About this Course

In June 2011, seven SNC students and two faculty members will travel with the Truckee, CA-based Bodhi Tree Foundation to deliver pre/postnatal vitamins and medical supplies to the women of Humla, the most remote region of Nepal, deep in the western Himalayas. This trip will be the center of two courses each student will complete; the students will gain traditional academic and real-world knowledge of Service Learning as well as Nepali art and culture. In addition to our service, we will visit many significant cultural and religious monuments for both Buddhists and Hindus. Join us as we prepare for this adventure of a lifetime.

Travel Immunizations!!

Hey Girls,
As we all hopefully know now we need a bunch of fun shots before we leave in June. Most of the shots are available at a general doctor but the Typhoid vaccine has to be administered at a Travel Medical Clinic. These clinics are not covered by insurance so the Typhoid shot will be around $150, just make sure you ask when you make the appointment how much it will cost. I have attached a link to the Travel clinics located in Nevada, there is also a clinic I have called in Stateline the number is 530-543-5660 Tahoe Family Physicians ask for Dr. Martin in Travel Meds. Remember anywhere you go you have to make an appointment before and the sooner the better! Hope this helps all of you!
