About this Course

In June 2011, seven SNC students and two faculty members will travel with the Truckee, CA-based Bodhi Tree Foundation to deliver pre/postnatal vitamins and medical supplies to the women of Humla, the most remote region of Nepal, deep in the western Himalayas. This trip will be the center of two courses each student will complete; the students will gain traditional academic and real-world knowledge of Service Learning as well as Nepali art and culture. In addition to our service, we will visit many significant cultural and religious monuments for both Buddhists and Hindus. Join us as we prepare for this adventure of a lifetime.

Group Blogging

I have just changed the settings so that each time one of us posts to this blog, every member of the trip group will receive the post in their email box as well.

So, here's a test--because of the snow day last Friday, we are having a make-up meeting this Friday at 4:45pm. At this meeting, we will be discussing the Nepali Buffet Event that is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23. We will be asking each of you to sell tickets to the event to all of your friends--and your hairdresser, and your mechanic, and your boss, and your ski instructor friends!

Can each of you post a comment on this blog letting us all know you will be at the meeting on Friday! Thanks!
By the way, if you haven't heard, I X-country skiied around Spooner Lake yesterday--doing lunges the whole way...

  1. Just testing the comment box--tickets will be printed tomorrow if you want to pick some up to take home with you. Don't let Sabrina do all the work!
